Miryokucon is dedicated to providing a comfortable and harassment-free environment for everyone, where all people are treated with dignity, decency, and respect. Attendees at this event and participants in our social media and/or digital platforms are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that is courteous and respectful of the other people present. By attending Miryokucon, all individuals agree to abide by Miryokucon policies, including this Code of Conduct, venue policies, and all municipal, state, and federal laws.
Please be aware of and respect the personal boundaries of your fellow participants so that everyone can enjoy their time at the event.
Miryokucon has a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY for harassment of any kind including, but not limited to:
- stalking
- intimidation
- offensive verbal comments
- physical assault and/or battery
- threats
- harassing or non-consensual photography or recording
- sustained disruption of presentations and other events
- bathroom policing
- inappropriate physical contact
- unwelcome physical attention
- sexually explicit, suggestive and/or provocative behavior or signage
- hate symbols related to, but not limited to:
- race
- color
- national origin
- gender
- gender identity
- gender presentation
- sexual orientation
- marital status
- age
- body size
- disability
- appearance
- religion
- citizenship
- pregnancy
If a person engages in behavior in violation of this Code of Conduct at any time, Miryokucon will take prompt action in any form deemed appropriate, including expulsion from the event with no refund. Our policy applies to EVERYONE participating in an Miryokucon event.
In the event a policy is not listed here, we generally defer to the policies of Mid-Atlantic Anthropomorphic Association Inc., our parent organization.
All participants are subject to this Code of Conduct.
Please note that anyone can report harassment to event staff/security at any time. If someone’s behavior has made you uncomfortable, or if you witness harassment happening to someone else, you should immediately contact event staff/security. If necessary, security or event staff will contact local law enforcement, provide escort, offer a safe place, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment.
Reporting Violations
Allegations of violations of this Code of Conduct are taken seriously by Miryokucon. Anyone who has experienced or witnessed behavior that appears to be a violation of the rules stated herein should report it as soon as possible.
At Miryokucon, the first report should be made to a member of the Public Safety team. When that is not possible, the complaint should be brought to one of the following locations: Operations, Information Desk, or Miryokucon Department Head.
